Whats not to like? You get foreign films or documentaries in a small but true theater setting, and espresso, snacks, I believe wine too. If you're local or partially local, become a member. This is the kind of place Miami needs more of! I love that it's a coupla' blocks walk from home.

If you want to see a great documentary, think about an important issue of modern day, learn about something you would not see anywhere in a large theatre, award winning documentary and the best part to compliment would be the actual address of a relevant speaker.. I attended "Ingredients" which was a short documentary about healthy foods available at Farmers... More

So glad the Cinemathique is there. It seems underutilized by residents of miami beach. But they have an exciting, eclectic collection of independent films. The atmosphere is what you would expect of serious independent film buffs. The building itself is awesome.

Very active cinematheque and fine place with bistro, books and photos. Classics films (Chaplin, Buster Keaton) and also the top production of the year (The beasts of southern wild).

Thank you Miami Beach. Keep this great tradition alive. Located in the heart of South Beach in the old City Hall, the Cinematheque plays movies and documentaries that the Multiplex won't show

Just sat down to be entertained by Diane Vreeland's story... this place looks awesome and has a really good lineup of movies both American and foreign ones. The atmosphere is really great and just hear they will be opening an adjacent cafe during Basel. If you like foreign movies this is the place to be. Check it out! Who said... More

We discovered this wonderful little movie theatre on a rare rainy afternoon in Miami Beach. The seating is comfortable and the surroundings are really attractive and intimate feeling, as though you're watching a film in a private home. We were warmly welcomed to the theatre and introduced to the French film by a Cinemateque manager. So enjoyable not to have... More

Small theatre in Miami Beach that shows arthouse flicks. It's nice to be able to see these films that are hard to find anywhere else in the whole Miami area.

This is a warm, comfortable, stylish place to see unusual films, often introduced by the movie's producer or director, or at least the very knowledgeable director of the Cinemateque. Movie lovers' treat on Washington Ave in the old City Hall building.
