Whether you want to see a movie or take in a theatrical performance, supporting the Hippodrome is a great thing to do. Outstanding historic building with friendly staff and awesome location right downtown, near several good restaurants and shops.

They have live theatre as well as artsy movies and a small museum. This was a very old post office. Great building and plenty of places to eat around there.

This quaint, old building is a monument to Gainesville. The movies are independent films and the plays are always entertaining and cutting edge. The Hipp is an awesome place to go for a night out, for some time alone or an afternoon matinee. Love this place !

The theater is upstairs of the movie theater. The seating arrangement places the stage on the floor surrounded on 3 sides with comfortable seats in stadium style. We especially like the convenience of having drinks in the lobby AND be able to take them into the theater proper. Very civilized.

The theater space is very intimate. Not a bad seat in the house. A great perk is being able to bring your cocktail into the theater with you and enjoy while watching the play. Great shows in a comfortable theater with good site lines. We have seasons tickets and they are always good about changing dates if we need to do so.

Lucky to have such a professional theater in our midst. Great actng and productions in a lovely environment.

Our first visit to a "Theatre in the round," we will come back. Enjoyed this "Off-beat" play a lot. The two actors had impectible timing, delivery was "spot on." Loved being close to the stage. Quite an experience for us.
