Beautiful botanical gardens. Each turn brought about a new garden; herb, bamboo, butterfly, etc. We walked the two sides of the park. 1 side a little over a mile, the other maybe a half mile.

Nice day out with the girls. Not impressive, but nice and tranquil. Many things are not as pretty as the pictures. Don’t forget to buy some food for the Koi. Some are very pretty. Easy walk and if you go early nice birds.

The gardens offer several paths and each abounds with magnificent flowers and trees. Also has a play ground for kids!

What a wonderful, tranquil sanctuary! This was such a nice way to spend an afternoon and we were able to take the dogs. For those walking challenged, a mobility scooter is advised -- paths are fine for a scooter and single stroller to pass comfortably, but the double wide strollers, which are permitted, can pose a challenge as they take up the path and theie is often no convenient way for them to move to the side. The theme gardens are very nicely done with side paths, nooks and alcoves where park goers can stop to read, relax, etc. This is a very user friendly park and the people, kids, and dogs, seems to get along just fine. Bamboo is exceptional and the labels for the plants are easy to read. We plan to return -- membership is a bargain.

Beautiful park even in December. Lots of plants and trees still blooming. The bamboo gardens were surreal. Windy day so we just sat and listened. Clean and well maintained. Love that there were lots of well behaved pups in the park. Someone was even using the park to train a service dog.
Highly recommend seeing it especially in the spring . I assume the flowered are spectacular. Saw a beautiful hawk also

Beautiful place! We spent all morning there and I'm sure we did not see it all. Just make sure you bring bug spray for the mosquitoes and walking shoes. You will not be disappointed!

first time to this park. it honors the military and our vets. this day it was very hot. Vietnam folks were having a shin dig on the patio. they have monuments up on patio where bricks represent loss of lives during different wars. its a very big park. had trees with Spanish moss on them and a palm tree. kids were playing soccer. took the kids to the back section to play in that area. whiles my girlfriend did pictures for a baby shower. they have public restrooms for all your bowel movement needs. my girlfriend picked a piece off of the palm tree for me. sadly it had gotten lost. really enjoyed this park and shall return on next visit to the city of Gainesville in Florida. give it a go.

The war memorial is remarkable in it portrayal of the lives lost in each conflict. Its a great place for events and for individual visits.

Want to get involve in youth soccer, stop by and get to know the coaches and teams, stroll along the walkways around the park, bring your roller skates or blades and skate around the skating rink. Need a place for a picnic or group gathering? Stop by and check the outdoor facilities. Hold your next event in the veterans center where you will have kitchen facilities, tables and chairs available. Contact the Alachua County Parks Department for more information and please, take a walk around the memorials so you can remember whay our freedom is so important.

We have been several times for parties.

Get there early to reserve an outside table in one of the pavilions. There is a room inside as well which seats 50+.

The Park has a walking trail, soccer field, basketball diamond, skating rink, volleyball courts, playground equipment and plenty of parking.

The bathrooms are clean and well stocked.

There is always plenty of room no matter how many people are there.

This is the nicest park in Gainesville.
