The 2 1/2 hour cruise was delightful. The covered vessel included the history of Fernandina, Cumberland Island and those who were known as our first inhabitants in those areas. It was interesting, fun and a cool ride into the wilderness and back in time. Easy-going guide and Captain work well together! They make this tour very worthwhile. They helped us... More

We took the morning cruise to Cumberland and had a wonderful time. Captain and his crew were very knowledgeable and entertaining as they described the various sights. Seating is comfortable. We did have a couple of small children on our cruise who quickly become bored and whimpering. Their parents said they thought the cruise would be more 'interactive' so keep... More

I was taken on the Cumberland Island tour for my birthday and enjoyed every minute of it! Our boat captain, Kurt, was fantastic. He knew so much about each of the areas the boat passed - the Port, pulp mills, shrimp boats, Ft. Clinch, St. Mary's, Cumberland Island (The Carnegies, Fergusons, etc.), the submarine base, the animals and waterways. You... More

We went on the morning tour featuring Cumberland Island. The captain and guide shared a lot of information on the history of both Amelia Island and Cumberland Island. This tour is especially nice if you're into nature but it would likely be enjoyable for just about anyone. There were several sightings of dolphins and many different birds. We saw several... More

We made reservations for the 10:30 cruise called The Cumberland Island Tour. I think we were on the boat called The Bald Eagle. There was plenty of space and lots of room to stand if you wanted to see something better without blocking your neighbor's views. I'm glad I brought our binoculars as they came in handy to see, among... More

We took the short (1 1/2 hour) cruise late in the afternoon. The boat was the "Kaylynn", a medium size cruise catamaran that would hold about 50 passengers The captain and the historian aboard were so professional. As we cruised out of the docks in town we learned things about the history of Fernandina Beach that were interesting, but I... More

We highly recommend this highly informative and enjoyable 2+ hour cruise from Fernandina Beach (departs from Brett's dock) to Cumberland Island. The guides share fascinating historical and marine-life knowledge - we saw magnificent birds (osprey, two gorgeous roseate spoonbill, and many others), wild horses, dolphin, a manatee, and thankfully - no rattlesnakes as we made a wide berth of Tiger... We've done 3 cruises with Amelia River Cruises and every one has been great. They run a professional operation that offers a good history of the local area and unique views of the waterfront and surrounding islands. Our most recent tour was on Memorial Day weekend and I was impressed with how well they managed the tour on such a... More

We took the 10:30 cruise to Cumberland island on Memorial Day. Captain pajama Dave was very interesting and we got a lot of information on our way. When we saw dolphins he would slow down and let every one on the boAt take puctures. Same when we saw horses on Cumberland island. The crew was laid back and not rushed... More

We went on the 10:30 AM "Cumberland Island Tour" and it was wonderful. The tour lasted just over 2 hours and we did so much in that time. As soon as we started the ride we saw dolphins right near the boat. The tour continued with a tour of the island, Fort Clinch State park and then across to Cumberland... More
