Blue Sky Basin is very accessible from Lions Head Gondola. In deep powder, it compares well with any slopes in Central Colorado. If the snow is not deep, then go take a hike in the Holy Cross Wilderness Area surrounding Beaver Creek Resort. http://coppersnowboarder.tripod.com/ More

The Blue Sky Basin, a recent addition of territory to the already huge Vail Ski Resort, is a fantastic ski/snow board terrain. Plenty of runs of all abilities and usually great snow. The only disadvantage (some call it an advantage depending...) is the location which will partly challenge you on your logistics to get there and back. More

This was my second time skiing Vail which is one of the most beautiful views anywhere. Little did I know there was Blue Sky Basin. It took about an hour and a half to finally arrive, but it was definitely worth the trip. Great intermediate skiing amongst the trees, Not to mention, the views of the surrounding moutain ranges are... More

Although hard to get to, the Blue Sky Basin area of Vail is the crown jewel of the resort. It's designed to be more rustic than the rest of the resort. Lift lines usually are short. The trails wend themselves through trees. The snow is soft and foregiving, even when other trails are iced over. The intermediate runs are flater... More

The lack of snow pushed us to Blue Sky Basin. As it turned out it was the best snow we found in all of Vail when we skied. Early the runs were groomed and not alot of traffic it did get busy later. Loved the area and will be back. More

Right now you can avoid the crowds on the front by heading here early in the morning. The cruisers are Grand Review, Cloud 9 and Big Rock Park which lead to Pete's Express and back up. Those three runs will make you feel that you can ski even if you should know better. A few trees widely set add to... More

Whenever it's a powder, Blue Sky Basin is the only place in Vail/Beaver Creek to find me. 'Nuff said. More
