We had a great time tubing at Howelsen. Part of your admission ticket for the hour helps fund the center which allows children of various ages to practice slalom racing and ski jumping under the supervision of their coaches. While having fun racing down the hill in our tubes, we could then watch the ski jumps of kids ages 8-16... More

Thanks for visiting Howelsen Hill for tubing! Howelsen Hill is Steamboat's only after school/night skiing spot and there are over 1,000 kids that participate in the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club's winter sports programs, so there's usually a lot of activity at the hill that can be fun to watch while you tube. We're glad you enjoyed it. More

We found this place by recommendations while renting our skis, we brought over our 2 toddlers ages 2 and they had such a wonderful time on the little magic carpet and it was there first time on skis and had no problem going down the little slope by themselves. However we had visited on a Sunday and decided to come... More

Thanks for visiting Howelsen Hill with your family! Howelsen Hill Ski Area is a city park - so we try to make it affordable and are glad you thought that it was a great deal. The little magic carpet is where many of Steamboat's Olympians learned to ski - so your children are following in great footsteps. We appreciate your... More

We went tubing there one evening at 5:30pm. The place was well lit. There was the magic carpet to take you up the hill and there were two groomed tracks for sliding. The people there were professional and have good safety practice (give you proper safety instruction, make sure the track is clear before you go, etc) The location is... More

We have been vacationing in Steamboat Springs for several years now, and always make a point to go over to Howelsen Hill for some tubing. But, tonight, we were so frustrated, we just put our tubes away and left after two trips down the hill. First of all, the "magic carpet ride" is excruciatingly slow. It's absurd to even have... More

I am so sorry that you did not enjoy your time tubing at Howelsen. We are happy to offer a full refund. We do limit the number of tubers at each hour long tubing session to ensure that each person can get between 6 to 10 runs or more in each session - once tubing begins everyone gets spread out... We're 65+ and we thought it was a blast - we never put the brakes on and went for speed. Look for the discount coupon in the tourist lit, as it can be pricey (we paid for 6 rides).

We had so much fun using the alpine slide that we went twice! While the track was a little rocky at times (to be expected) it was a thrilling ride with great views from the top of the mountain. The chair lift took about 10-15 minutes to get up so it was nice to get some panoramic views of the... More

Howlsen Hill (where Olympic ski jump hopefuls train in the winter time) operates an Alpine Slide during the summer months. The ascent on the ski lift is magnificent, and then the ride down the Alpine Slide is an experience you won't soon forget!

My family loved the Howler Alpine Slide. We almost didn't do it because it looked like a short ride. Once you get on the ski lift and ride up for a bit, you see that it is actually a very long slide. We appreciated that they spread out the riders so that you don't catch up with slow people. We... More

We took the Oylimpic tour and learned lost about the area. Then took a ride to the top and iked back down. Our kids did the slide and thought it was a blast. If you look around town you can find a $2 off coupon.

My family enjoyed the slide in the summer. It was a place they would have stayed all day. However, the price is to high for that to happen. If you do not want to do the slide you may ride up and back on the ski lift. I would suggest having your boys save plenty of money for a day... More
