if you're an outdoorsman, this is the nat'l forest in colorado to experience. crowds are minimal, except for july and august. sept is my favorite month because the tourists are gone and all the peaks and passes are hikable w/ no to little snow. lots of elk, grouse, minerals, fossils. on a typical hike in june or sept you might... Beutiful with something for everyone We will be back, fishing is great, lots of lakes, streams rio grande river.
