Hiked to the top of Horsetooth Rock with my wife, sister and brother-in-law. We all had a great time doing it. The vast majority of the hike is moderate but becomes a bit more difficult if you want to make it to the top. Scenery is great and it is a nice work out. Parking in that state park is... More

Great trails and a quick trip from town to get there. Once you do, it is a moderate hike up to 7,300 feet and views all around.

I have hiked to the top of horsetooth before but never went over to the falls. Very nice hike doing both. I was kind of disappointed the falls was just a trickle due to low water but the huge rocks were very impressive. Saw several deer by the falls also. Well worth the $6.

Pretty, cool houses to look at. We didn't hike, didn't have time, but would have liked to. All parking areas charge a fee. Great views from here.

Although we didn't make it to the top of the mountain, we drove along the route and loved every turn. The scenery is excellent. Lots of photo opps.

West of FC - an easy drive with gorgeous views at any time of year. Start here for a canyon tour up into the Rockies.

For a one day parking fee $6, the family can hike miles of nice trails. Some to the falls and some up to the horsetooth peek. Views are good from here as well. You can even bring the dogs.

The hike to the falls is a fantastic spring family hike (careful with little ones towards the end as there are some cliffs) and the hike to Horsetooth Rock is always great.

The Horsetooth Falls trail is long enough to be a trip, but short enough that most kids over the age of 6 should be ok on it (and you won't have to carry them back). The falls themselves are a bit small (in mid-summer, it's more like a bathroom shower than a waterfall) but if you can hit it after... More
