We really enjoyed our ride and lunch. The train itself is vintage but nice. We were very comfortable and the food was excellent. Our server was Michael and he was outstanding. Michael also gave lots of interesting information about the gorge and all the historical sites along the way. The Vista Dome car was excellent and the open air flat... More

Yeh it's pretty hokie. Go a mile up the tracks. Stop. Back up a mile to the station. But the gorge is beautiful! We saw some momma, daddy and baby Bighorn sheep, several rafters and kayakers and heard some interesting history and had a very tasty lunch. The staff was extremely nice and accommodating. We also rode in the dome... More

We appreciate the nice review, but I gotta tell you hokie hurts a little. Though wounded, I heal quickly. You were kidding though, right? We certainly don't think there is anything corny and contrived or fake about the Royal Gorge Route Railroad. Our reviews are pretty solid proof that most guests find the experience completely genuine...great scenery, great service and... More

My husband and I really enjoyed this. We rode in the Vista Dome car and it was very comfortable. The views were amazing and we went out to the open air car to take pictures. We had sandwiches in the Vista Dome car and they were pricey but very good. The service was fantastic One of the wait staff was... More

Maybe because we live in Colorado and have done high passes, traversed Glenwood Canyon and so much more, but the Royal Gorge Gourmet train ride was a bit of a letdown. The railway built generations ago is still a spectacular engineering feat, but the canyon itself is not one of the most beautiful our state offers. Try the Poudre northwest... More

Thanks for riding with us on Mother's Day, and thanks for leaving some thoughts and comments about the experience. We don't respond to every review, whether the reviewer gave us a 5 or a 3, but do like to reply ocassionally. Coloradoans are kind of spoiled by the amazing scenery across our state. There is something for everyone, but not... More

I can't wait to experience with my family, friends and hotel guests! Awesome adventure! Staff A-MAZING!!! Well done and perfectly orchestrated! Signing up to see Santa with the kids and looking forward to doing a couples day. Attended an HSMAI event and I was introduced to so many other touristy attractions and venues from the Canon City area. A whole... More

My daughter and I decided to give this train ride a try. We were certainly not disappointed. We chose the VistaDome car and ordered lunch. I had a Bison Burger and my daughter had a Veggie Sandwich. Both were delicicious. The service on the car was great. I think our server was Ashley and she was very accommodating. The taped... More

While not a long train ride the views are spectacular. In the bar car, Pete the bartender is full of information and very attentive to the guests. The food is very good and well presented. There are outdoor cars where you can take great pictures but unlike other trains the windows are clean enough to take pictures out of. Stopping... More

This is a great attraction. The service was great, but the best part was standing outside on the open air car and enjoying the views. The staff told a lot of great stories about the old wooden water pipeline and the gun fighter forts you can see along the gorge. We saw a couple of rafters, but it was April... More

We rode the train for the 3rd time Easter weekend. Although the river is down and this area of Colorado is pretty dry it was a beautiful trip. Our granddaughter (four years old) loves the train and loves to spend the trip in the open air car. Be aware of food and drink prices, they are a bit pricey but... More
