There's a lot of hype about the Santa Monica Pier, and after being there I have to say I'm glad we went but it's just alright. The views are what makes this pier so cool. You've got the mountain, ocean and city views all from one place. It was nice to walk around, but the pier itself seems rickety and... More

I've seen and heard about the pier all my life and this was my chance to see it. I was in LA on business so I booked a hotel near so I could go visit the beach and pier. Although, not as much fun alone (I was on business remember), it was fun to see the beach and pier and... More

This is a classic venue with a majestic, historic carrousel. But, basically it is a 1950's/60's style amusement park. Kids would have a ball. But, for adults if you've been once, you've done it all. However, be sure to see it at least once! By the way, for history buffs, the Pier is the end of historic US Route 66.

Who doesnt want to see the Santa Monica pier sign that has been featured in so many movies and TV. We actually went twice:) The water is beautiful. The mountains in the background make for some awesome pictures. We saw dolphins so close to shore. It is a great place to visit.

I am from NY and we have Coney Island but I had to see the famous Santa Monica pier while visiting family in California. First, you can't compare the two. Although I love Coney Island and it is coming back, it is also can be filthy and seems to attract undesirables. Santa Monica is soo clean, the people are soo... More

Loved that there is a little amusement park right on the pier. You must ride the ferris wheel so you can take in the awesome view. Rides were decently priced. Shopping was the regular tourist fare and overpriced. Beach that the pier is on is nice!

On a recent visit back to my college town, I was pleasantly surprised to see how this iconic pier has really rejuvenated itself and become a destination filled with restaurants and attractions. For dining, there are options ranging from the fancy and costly to the familiar fast food, making it accessible to all income levels. The must-do ride on the... More

Enjoyed the people watching, and watching everyone who was having a great time. We drove from Covina, CA to visit and I am glad we did. This is my second time to the Pier, and I enjoyed it just as I did the first time I was here. You can park on the Pier itself for $3 an hour, or... More

Like Brighton, England, but without the humour. Quite noisy. Big hot dogs. Low quality rides and the same old thirst you can get everywhere.
