The varied terrain helps make this course interesting. Some hilly, some flat, trees, and some forced water carries. An enjoyable mix, challenging without being too extreme. It can be a bit rough around the edges in winter or following a patch of wet weather, but so can any course.

Booked tee time through Golfnow for 7:12 clubhouse was closed. Cart guy told us to check in at the turn, if you're going to sell tee times be open when you do?? Just saying. Used to play this course a lot, but now the staff and management and ownership seem to care less about the customer and his experience, I... More

A real slice of coastal California, tucked in to the canyons, across water and through gags this is a challenging course. The greens vary from slick as glass to thick and course.

While up north last week my daughters boyfriend and I had the opportunity to play this course. The setting and views are excellent though this is not an easy course. The course was not crowded and our pace of play was quick. If you enjoy a challange check this course out, you won't be sorry.

Scruffy is the best thing locals could say about the course. No bag drop so we carried our bags about 500 feet to the Pro Shop. Paid $68 a round and then $34 for a power cart. The Pro Shop guy told us our power cart was at the first hole so we had to walk another 500 feet. I... More

You couldn't ask for a more beautiful course and location right next to the beach. The price is okay though

Not my favorite course. The weather is usually nice for golf here, but the course can be expensive and isn't good enough to charge a high price. My husband did have a hole in one at atournament we were playing in there. If you get a deal I guess I would play there again.

The front nine goes back into a canyon. It starts out flat, then the worst hole is a narrow par three where if your ball goes left you're into a hillside cow pasture. The #3 is a long uphill, dogleg right with a blind green. Weather changes in the back where you might tee off with cows alongside. The front... More

I love the setting and the local deals at Avila. It is a tough course, but well worth it. As a member, there are great discounts. Avoid weekend mornings as they can be slow - sometimes 5 to 6 hour rounds.

Course was well laid out and had some pretty challenging holes. Quite a few divots, but that's other golfers being irresponsible, not the golf course's short coming. Our group had a great time.
