My son and daughter loved this museum. Rainy day activity to let my wife have some time alone. They had fun exploring the activities. They ended up spending their most time with the log cabin recreation and the puppets. More

The wonders in this museum and science center are mind boggling, especially being in Sacramento. What a treasure. It's so much fun and so educational and hands on, if you only have time for one event, I'd take this one. More

This building consists of 2 rooms. One side has a few animals in it like a frog, tortoise, rabbit, and fish. There is one old puzzle and a couple of books to read. In the other toom there is an exhibit about dinosaurs. It was ok but just not much to do or see for more than half an hour.... More

Lots of hands on goodies. My only wish is that it grows to an even bigger museum. It was fun for children as well as adults. More

Last visit is not valid. Just wanted to let people know that this museum is no longer at this site and is in the process of moving to another location. More

please do not be fooled by their website. the "museum" itself is indeed a dump, because 1, a room filled with with less than 10 animals usually seen in pet stores does not meet my standard of a natural "museum" 2. a room filled with out-dated pictures of astronauts, space, and stars does not qualify a space "museum" please be... Their new Planetarium exhibit is not organized, they can only fit so many people in the room and you have to wait for hours till its your turn...Im constantly over hearing many people not satisfied, children's hands were not being stamped when they first walked in and they were not allowing them to come back in the building...It smells bad... The Discovery Museum is a small gem in the Sacramento area. On days when I need to get out of the house with my two year old, I bring her here to play in the log cabin and in the back is a great space ship and costumes for the kids to pretend to be astronauts. On the weekends, the... More

It would be a wonderful place to go if they updated the place and added more hands on. My husband and then 2 year old son went there for some family fun. We payed our 7$ fee (at that time it was 7$) walked past the front desk and turned to our right. There are about 2 rooms and that... More
