Loved it! It was like stepping back in time. Very informative and educational for the family. We took our three sons and it gave them a better understanding of our history. Because of the heat make sure you bring at least some bottled water but there is a small snack bar where for $2 you can buy a bottle :... More

If you love heavy metal or just polished old metal, this is the place for you. Lovingly kept mostly WWII aircraft gleamingly bright in the hot desert sun - Howard Hughes' ghost probably lives here...

This year was our second visit to this excellent museum when we were invited to a special event held in one of the hangers. We were impressed once again by the comprehensive collection of WW II planes and memorabilia, informative staff, and hands on exhibits. The museum is fascinating and well worth a visit when in Palm Springs. Allow several... More

If you like World War II plane and great gentlemen that served in the arm forces you will love this place. Just talking to these fine gentlemen who share their stories with you and have so much knowledge of the planes is great.

The volunteers are great. Lots of interesting stories and they have a huge library. If you have a particular interest, ask one of the docents if there is any material in the library about it. I learned about aircraft carriers on Lake Michigan. Where else can you climb through a B17 bomber at such a nominal fee? GO!

This Air Museum is divided between the pacific and the European battlefields. They have a running video about the WACS (Women's Air Corps) which is informative and fun. Several of the planes are open to climb upon. And there are lots and lots of memoribilia and displays. Docents/volunteers run the museum and are very helpful.

We stumbled across the air museum looking for something to do out of the sun on a hot afternoon. We're not huge history or aviation buffs, but really enjoyed the opportunity to walk around and under the planes while learning a bit about each of them and how they and their crews used them to defend our country. The museum... More
