We were fortunate to spend time with John Caldwell in his tasting room in the Caldwell cave. It is a special setting for a tasting. His wines are fantastic, especially the Cabs.
John himself is the star attraction. He is funny, engaging, and down to earth. I don't think there is an ounce of pretentiousness in him. He has one...

John Caldwell is quite a character and provides a fun tasting. good wines, gorgeous views! Loved chatting with him about all the things he did way back in the 70's.

The wines are spectacular...the people are terrific...after 20-plus years of wining through California and the rest of the wine-world, THIS should be at the top of EVERYONE'S list!!

Our group of 12 had our last tasting of the day at Caldwell Winery. We were fortunate enough to enjoy the experience with the owner of the winery. What a fantastic experience--great wine, great entertainment (Jim Caldwell tells great stories) and spectacular sunset from the winery.

The 2 1/2 hours we spent with John Caldwell were by far the most memorable. We had such a great time enjoying John's company and wine. The wines featured were fantastic and can't wait to receive our order. Looking forward to our return visit. Also, when your are there make sure to try the port, very yummy!

We had a private tasting in the Caldwell cave with John Caldwell himself. He was funny, welcoming and taught us about his wine. The cave is magnificent. We can't wait to go back!
