I have now rented kayaks from Sub Sea two times, each with different friends who have flown home with me to SLO County. Because we are all fairly adventurous, outdoorsy grad students/anthropologists/archeologists, we are usually looking to try something new. Kayaking was an awesome choice because we got to be under the sun and on the coast, but also got... More

This was the third time we've rented kayaks on Morro Bay. They are conveniently located along Embarcadero, friendly, and not stressed about counting minutes. We were the first out and saw sea lions, a seal (I think) the otter, and a great assortment of waterfowl. The pre-boating instruction is short, and sweet but complete - the pricing very reasonable: $20/hr... More

We set off on the whale watching tour knowing that it was the end of the season for humpback whales but hopeful anyway. The captain was easy going and skilled and the naturalist was knowledgeable and helpful. The seas were rough but the captain doggedly looked for whales all over for 2.5 hours. Finally, we were almost at the bay... More

The captain was very friendly, and we learned a lot from him. It was neat going in the bottom part of the boat and seeing all the fish. while we were out by Morro rock, we saw a momma otter taking care of her little baby

First off, you should know that we did not participate in any of the guided tours but just rented kayaks to do our own thing. The staff was super friendly and very laid back about returning our kayak a little late. Also, after seeing me wrap my camera in a plastic bag they offered to loan me a dry bag... More

We took our San Diego visitors on a whale watching boat ride. There were 16 people (from Italy, Florida, and many other places) and 2 crew. It was a cloudy morning, but it cleared towards the end of the 2 1/2 hour trip, and blankets were provided. We saw an otter rookery with a mother lying on her back grooming... More
