Great hiking and rock climbing (one pitch top rope), good view from some spots. Parking can be a hassle.

Lovely place for hiking, rock climbing, or camping. Different length and level of trails for everyone - we camped here as teens and still come for the beautiful hikes now as adults.
A beautiful place to hike in the Santa Cruz Mountains with moss covered trees and cool sandstone rock formations. We hiked the 5.6 mile Saratoga Gap Loop Trail that leads straight into the woods on a gentle downhill path. The sign at the trailhead says a moderately difficult hike but I would say moderate. It's a little bit of a drive from Silicon Valley, so I only hike there 2-3 times per year, but it's one of our favorite places for a day trip & hike. A little bouldering available too, and rock climbing for those who are prepared (or watching for the rest of us). Park on Skyline for free (I do) or...

One of my favorite places to hike. Trails are in the trees, along cliff edges, you need to scramble over rocks, and there are all kinds of different rock formations to see. If you're into rock climbing you can do that here as well.
Close enough to be in reach, but far enough to forget that you live in Silicon valley. The hikes are just right and reward with nice rocks to climb on, waterfalls to explore, and views to admire. There are trails from beginner to intermediate. Parking available on street or in parking lot.
This is a great location to enjoy the outdoors in the Bay area. With various geology to appreciate. As there are others, like Mt Hamilton, Mt Umunhum, and Loma Prieta. Trails are well marked - go to the sea and enjoy life
WE went there to view the rock climbers., Even watching them was to scary for me! There are nice trails to walk on in the park so go have a look.,
Take the kids and let them explore the rocks about a half mile hike from the road. They will be busy for at least an hour. A bit different from the usual hiking places in this area.
It is a very crowded are. You might find as many people as trees. However, a great place for climbers.
