This was my first time visiting underground caverns. It was an interesting and informative experience learning about all the different rock formations. There were lots of opportunities for photos inside and stunning views from high above Lake Shasta. There are many stairs to climb within the caverns - could be physically challenging for some people. Also be sure to wear... More

Check out the Shasta Caverns on a trip to Lake Shasta and you won't regret it! The best time, in my opinion, is when it's over 100 degrees outside. Step into the cool, cool caverns and forget about the sweating for a while! From the lake you get the advantage of the E ticket ride on the shuttle bus up... More

Loved this trip especially our tour guide Tracy who kept the entire group lively and enthusiastic. She did a great job on riding the catamaran for 15 min, then taking us by bus to the actual caves and then guiding through its minute details of history and geography and also explaining the architectures of the nearby bridges, dams and overall... We stopped by the Caverns on our way to Oregon. The place was pristine, with views of a lovely lake. We were told that the busses were not able to take visitors to and from the boat launch because of the mud from the previous rain storms. We decided to take the tour anyway. Unfortunately, for me, it was a... More

The tour guide on our shasta dam tour gave us a $3 coupon for the caverns. From the pictures on the travel brochure the caverns looks amazing, and it's only 20mins north of Redding so we decided to go, and it turned out to be the highlight of our weekend trip! We got the tickets from the visitors office. After... More

It is truly a spectacle of nature. As my family and I were touring the caverns my wife happens to drop a pair of sunglasses that were on her head. When she looked up at something they happened to fall just out of our reach. Our tour guide told my wife not to worry they would get a maintenance person... More

My Family and I Had A Road Trip Up To OREGON And Back this month and decided to do the tour for the caverns, Since it was right off the freeway and we worked it in to arrive there for one of the scheduled tours. We had a Blast!!! Worth it especially to stretch our legs. Great for little ones.... More

The caverns are really spectacular. You take a short ferry ride across lake Shasta and then a short bus ride up to the carvers. Be prepared for lots of stars and once inside the caverns it can be a little warm and humid but they truly are amazing.
