We enjoyed walking along the beach each day of our stay in Kings Beach. We also enjoyed seeing the monument of the lake in a park setting that was also in Kings Beach area. It was carved out of granite with the info regarding the lake size and capacity engraved. It was a great Photo-Op site. More

A great spot on the beach, watching kayakers paddle by with the snow capped mountains in the background. There is also a good size play structure for younger children which was great to while away the time. Clean enough rest rooms close by, and free parking across the street (if you want to avoid the $8 daily rate at the... More

There are free concerts here on certain days. I believe there is a schedule online. Some of the bands are decent. The crowd is usually friendly and good for a laugh. The lake is always blue and crystal clear. It is still quite cold even in the summer. Men shouldn't go in too deep. I highly recommend the rafting. Takes... More

the beach was convenient, but dirty, without much activities, except for the playground area. other beaches have paddle boats and kyacks for rent, and are cleaner. More

Very unique beach in tahoe - very large sandy beach great for volley ball; not a lot of rocks, so it makes it easy to walk around - also very shallow, so you can walk way out in the water, great for kids. it can be busy though, so get there early to get a good spot. More

Kings Beach is over run by illegals who don't abide by any rules. Nothing is enforced here. it's trashy and sad. 20 years ago this was a great place to spend the day. Not now. Dogs run all over this beach, unleashed. Again, no laws are enforced. It's really sad that the Placer County Sherriff is not out there handing... More

It was our first time in this area, the area has plenty of sandy beach, playground, clean restrooms, picnic tables and rental for paddle boat, jetski, parasailing etc. Food are accessible too as they are just across the street. We came here in mid June and the temperature then was 67F. Parking is $10 for the whole day and you... More

We spent a June afternoon at Kings Beach State Recreation Area and had a pleasant time. The beach itself was full of families swimming, floating, sunbathing, etc. The sand was excruciatingly hot, however, so if you have swim shoes, I recommend wearing them. We ran everywhere we went so as not to burn our feet! If it was painful for... More
