It's very secure, as it's so well-traveled. Paved and clean it goes a distance and connects different communities. Esp. great on a bike. Sunday mornings can be packed so be aware of that. Every community should have such a trail!

Great for biking and hiking. Follows an old railroad line, partly rural, partly in suburbia. Nice if you want to stop for lunch or a snack, as it runs through Danville. (Lots of cafes and coffee spots).

A wonderful trail. Bike, hike, or just take a stroll. You can see all or part of the East bay through town centers and in the country. Take in all or part of it. A great part of the East Bay. Level all the way makes it an easy trek.

I moved often growing up, but there was always the Iron Horse Trail to connect me. It's a beautiful walk, bike, jog, and stroll. Sometimes it gets a little crowded especially through Danville/Alamo, but only on the peak hours. Still one of the best paved trails around.

easy trail, interesting things to look at. watch out for bikes.

It can get crowded but it's a great trail for biking, walking, rollerblading. Not so good for dogs if they chase people and watch the leashes so you don't trip people or bikers. The section from Dublin blvd to Dougherty is rough. The scenery is suburban. It's relatively flat and easy.
