Can't make it to the Kentucky Derby? Try the Del Mar Race Track on opening day. It's classy and fun, with a traditional track experience. The concerts during race season are great and draw quite a crowd. Bring your camera, take a betting class, and enjoy the day. I like the table service, if you haven't tried it, you should.

If you come here for the race season only is great. But the rest of the grounds are old and out dated. They really need to up date and re-vamp the whole place. we were her for the fair and the place looked old as ever.

The Del Mar Racetrack is a fun way to spend a summer afternoon, even if you don't gamble. I live not to far from the track, and it's a great place to take friends for an afternoon. The track was founded in 1937 by Bing Crosby, Jimmy Durante, and Pat O'Brien. The clubhouse is dotted with photos of Hollywood celebrities... More

Right up there with Saratoga...you have to this racetrack, even if you are not a horseracing afficiando. The atmosepher is unlike any other. The people watching, scenery and entire experience is outstanding. Go at least once. If you can..catch opening day...a bit frenetic, the largest crowds of the season, but it's worth it.

Did not come for the horse races but for a Koi (fish) show. Awesome grounds and very friendly staff. Look forward to another event that I will be here for.

We had a group of 6 couples down the the races for a birthday party. We took the metrolink from Fullerton to Solano beach and stayed for 4 races. We arrived at the station, hopped onto a free double decker bus and arrived at the track around 12:30. To get into the track it was $10 each and we found... More

I am working on a 'bucket list' item of attending races at every major track (and as many minor tracks as I can manage) in the US. Of the nine I have been to so far, Del Mar is my favorite. I went in August 2010, so I apologize if anything has changed. Since I was traveling from Minnesota, I... More

This is one of my favorite tracks, good horses, excellent trainers, and a long history. Where the turf meets the surf. I love to watch the horses and the people even though I don't bet much. Great restaurants and entertainment after the races. I have been going for over 30 years.
