Captain Dave's Whale watch delivers. This was our first whale watch and we did see a mom and calf Gray Whale. Additionally we saw common dolphin, bottlenose and sea lions. A great time.

This was an experience we actually tried twice in one trip. On the first day we went (March 24) we had a great time and were able to see a few groups of seals along with a few separate whale sightings. The scenery was gorgeous and the brownies at the end were delicious. Though the crew tried hard to find... More

I have been out with them twice and both times were spectacular. Hundred's if not thousands of dolphins are practically in the boat with you. I think they love the fast catamaran and riding the wake. You can see them swimming under the boat and right next to you via the viewing pod. We saw a few gray whales migrating... More

A wonderful experience for the whole family! We saw thousands of dolphins (literally) and three whales! The guides were friendly, helpful, funny and very knowledgeable. Our experience from start (booking) to end (yummy triple fudge brownie) was exceptional. I purchased a staff taken family photo to capture the memory (I appreciated the soft sale). If you're in the area, I... More

We decided to take a dolphin tour with Capt. Dave's in Dana Point based on the recommendation of the Marriott's Newport Coast Villas staff. We've been on several other dolphin/whale watching trips and Captain Dave's was one of the best operations I've encountered. The boat is exceptional, with the unique underwater viewing pods providing an UNREAL underwater perspective, and their... More

We had a fantastic time as a family that ranged from 61 to 5. I thought 3 hours would be a long time on a boat, but it went by in a snap and I wished we had longer. The crew truly was just as excited as we were to see anything and clearly took joy in our excitement. By... More

A very memorable experience! We saw dolphins and a whale! The guides were great and very knowledgeable. I personally wish we saw more whales but I would definitely go back!

We recently went whale watching on Capt Dave's boat and had a wonderful time. From start to finish the customer service was above and beyond. At one point the crew even allowed my 4 year old daughter the opportunity to sit up next to the Captain for a better view of the 2 gray whales we were watching. It was... More

This was our Annivrsary weekend and we wanted to go Whale watching. We had seen the videos about Capt. Daves and decided this was for us.(3/17/2013) This trip was fantastic! From the moment we arrived at the waiting area Karen made us feel at home. We were on a small 22 person catamaran (dolphin safari) and it was perfect. We... More

Our family of 9, all ages, had an incredible trip! Over 500 dolphins, 2 grays, and a young humpback! The crew was very knowledgeable, patient with our teenager's questions, and gave our family a wonderful memory! As was mentioned, take food your family to snack while out. Our family enjoyed this as much as Disneyland! Thanks to our captain, Captain... More
