Beautiful island, very residential but without feeling isolated or boring. The main streets were hopping with small businesses, walkable areas, and attractively maintained public grounds. My wife and I say we've stepped back to Mayberry. What a beautiful island. Friendly people. Laid back lifestyle. Wonderful restaurants and shops. We seriously can't say enough good about Coronado Island. If you haven't been, what are you waiting for? Get out there. We can't wait to go again!

Hotel del Coronado has its charm, but I didn't find it extraordinary in itself. The Hotel is okay, with its backyard opening on the beach. Coronado Island is a must-see while in San Diego! You can rent bikes at the ferry landing & ride them across the island to the Hotel Del.
