If you want a place to think and to wade, this is your spot. Lots of walking (if you dart through the tunnel) on the east side of the freeway (75)

The Silver Stand is a nice drive along the ocean with good views of the water and San Diego skyline. The campground there is just a parking lot, but being right next to the beach is what makes dry camping worth it.

Only stayed for 30 mins, weather was very cold during our visit but beach was beautiful. Does cost to park but since we had a short stop, I didn't bother paying for parking. There are signs posted there is a fine for not paying. *my disclaimer :)

Even though the beach isn't dog friendly we found that it is the best place to walk your dog on Coronado Island. The Dog Beach is too far away and hard to reach. The parking there is terrible. Here you can walk your dog in the parking lot and let him look over the barriers at the beach. There are... More

We have been here many times over the years - summer is the best- they have a snack bar open and you can rent body boards, etc. It's a nice long beach for a nice long walk on the beach…and the sunset is so beautiful.

Great bike path to enjoy hours of riding. Never crowded and the State Park is a great place to play in the surf.

We came to this beach for a couple of hours. The resort provides a shuttle to take you across the road to the beach. They provide ou and the family with everything ou need--towels, chairs, boogie boards and sand toys. It was a very quiet part of the beach, only thing missing was somewhere to get food, but we were... More

We stayed at the Loew's and took several walks over to Silver Strand. There is under-street tunnel access. Not at all busy, clean...nice place to stroll, enjoy the sunset, take pictures
