it takes less than 1 hour to drive around the lake. some vista points for nice pictures. nothing much to do, than fishing i guess

This is the most beautiful place. That is why I live here. Yes I am biased. I had no idea this area existed when I took a job here. But I have loved it, so I stayed.

We go to Lake Almanor to enjoy picnic's with friends, fish, and enjoy watching the water crafts/skiers and wake boarders, jet ski. The environment: trees, fresh air, water, and fun are wonderful. This is a beautiful Lake!

My wife and I had an overnight to just relax with the kids in safe hands so we headed up to Chester, CA. We spent the day golfing at the beautiful Bailey Creek golf course and the night in one of the rental cottages. The whole trip was super relaxing and not too expensive. We will do this again.

The lake is uncrowned with plenty of room for lake toys. Local restaurants are family friendly and great quality. Lassen and other parks have great hiking trails. So much to do here. This lake has to be seen and appreciated from the water. Our rental was from the Big Cove Resort Marina and they left a friendly and accommodating impression upon us.

Very windy. Very shallow. Pretty good fishing. Better lakes much closer. Wouldn't recommend. Too far, when there are so many better lakes around the area to go to.

If you have a few days to explore the Lassen National Forest area and are looking for water activities, spending sometime boating or swimming at Lake Almanor is a good option. Kayaking on the lake was great. The weather rocked. I recommend a weekend trip here. I love seeing the birds. We watched some catching fish and took pictures. You have to visit this lake to appreciate the natural beauty.
