What a beautiful place, lots of different shops cafes and restaurants. In all the ones we went in the service was excellent. I can imagine it gets very busy at weekends, much better to go midweek like we did.
The whole town is so charming, you feel like you are walking in a storybook. We walked to Mission Ranch for breakfast each morning and took the sidewalk along the beach on the way back. We stayed in Carmel for 3 nights in October. Lots of shops, art galleries, coffee shops and restaurants so very pleasant to walk around and browse; everywhere was so clean and well maintained. One of my favorite places to visit. So beautiful. The beaches are gorgeous. The homes are quaint. The shops are very high class and fairly inexpensive.
We arrived late evening and were amazed at the lack of street lighting its very dark but it adds to the character of the town. It is beautifully kept, the shops are very high class and are fairly expensive. I agree with a previous reviewer a torch would be most useful!
This is a beautiful village but have a map. The large choice of shops and restaurants is great. allow enough time to visit it properly. Even the toilets were good ! the people were so relaxed and friendly. I could live here.
