This tour was extremely informative and one of the highlights of our trip. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and worth the drive up to Calistoga. Our tour guide was top notch and very friendly. Touring through the caves and hearing the history behind this establishment was fascinating. Tasting the Champagnes was quite pleasing as we were able to have tastings... More

Last time we went to Napa we visited Domaine Carneros, and enjoyed the California Sparkling, but didn't fall in love. Schramsberg... turned me into a bubbly LOVER. Not in a million years would I have guessed I'd ever sign up for a membership to a sparkling club, but here I am!! And here's how I got there... The drive up... More

Our tour of Schramsburg was fascinating. Having been on severals winery tours, this was my first lesson on how sparkling wine is made. After receiving a taste of the blanc to blanc, we headed into the caves, where we saw walls lined with fermenting bubbly and ceilings lined with lichen. We received tastings throughout the tour, and saw workers taking... More

Most disappointing tour of our Napa/Sonoma trip. Went based on a friends reco and would never go again. First off - most expensive - $45 a person to taste! Seriously?? After reading other people's reviews you can definitely tell they skimped on our tour. There was no tasting room at all. We stood around in a dark cave for an... More

We toured the caves at the Shramsberg winery and did a wine tasting of four sparkling wines and a Cabernet. The tour was one of the best I've taken in the Napa Valley. Our tour guide was Kari. Her explanation of the sparkling wine making process, as well as the history of the winery, was informative and full of fun,... More

This was the most expensive tour we did so I had the high expectations. I found it to be really informative especially considering my limited knowledge of the sparkling wine process. The tour (of about 15 of us) started outside with the guide providing a history of the vineyard. We then went into their caves and were shown how they... More

Hands down my favorite winery experience in Napa. The tour was so unique in the underground caves, and the history of this winery was really fun to learn about. I also enjoyed the gallery featuring pictures of fancy White House dinners featuring different Schramsberg wines over the years. The tasting was done after the cave tour in a separate room.... More

We were en-route to a picnic in the local State park and wanted to pick up a bottle of sparkling wine, for which Shramsberg is renowned. The drive up is lovely, perhaps 1-2 miles, but apparently the length of the drive precludes tastings without the tour, as a State law. However even though we were too late for the winery/cave... Sooooo disappointed in this tour. It has gotten so commercial and they just pack em in and there is no sit down tasting any more. We stood for almost 2 hours in a dark cave trying to decipher what we were drinking. No benches, no seats, nothing. I love Schramsberg sparkling wines and will continue to drink them, but this... Excellent tour explaining how champagne is made and history of this prestigious vineyard. Loved the tasting in the cave. Great champagnes. Even bought a bottle. A little expensive but all the vineyards we visited charged tasting fees. Be sure to reserve in advance.
