I have never been to Golden Gate Fields. But while walking along the bay I an continually exposed to the loudspeaker thundering away. Often there are no horses on the track on the days this noise is emanating from the race track. I assume they most just like destroying the peace and quiet of San Francisco Bay.
Golden Gate Fields is a great place to enjoy an excellent lunch while experiencing the beauty of thoroughbred racing.
We've been to Golden Gate Fields many times, and it is a great way to spend a lazy Sunday. I had never been to the races before going here, and I didn't realize how exciting it can be. Easy to get to. Not expensive - especially when they have dollar days specials.

You can walk right up close to see these amazing animals. It is easy to be swept up in the excitement of watching your horses swiftly circling the track. You can bet as little as you want. So,it doesn't have to cost much to have a great day at the track.
A co-worker treated two of us for St. Patrick's Day at the Turf Club. We had window seats overlooking the track, mimosas and a grand buffet were included. The food was surprisingly good from the Corned Beef & Cabbage to the sliced Prime Rib and a nice selection of salad fixin's and veggies.
