There are many wonderful hiking trails through out the park. There are also some fun Family areas: steam train, Little Farm, the Merry Go Round and Lake Anza. While there are many wonderful parks in the East Bay, this is my personal favorite.

I love this park. Great to have such beautiful nature in close proximity of the city. The hiking options vary from easy to strenuous and the views are stunning, especially from the ridges. There are great places for picnics and options for a day out with your kids, especially near lake Anza. There is a trail map available at most... More

Had a great hike; beautiful scenery; great trees; and fun trails. However, just be careful; the park has had a lot of car break-ins and thefts at trail heads. Just be on the look-out for any odd-acting people; be extra-vigilant; and move-on if you see anything suspicious.

Tilden and the adjoining regional parks have a huge network of trails for hiking, horses and a few for bikes. Wildflowers, wildlife, a model farm, a merry go round, golf course and botanic garden.

Great train ride, merry-go-round, swimming lake, and a small animal farm. Highly recommend for an afternoon full of "Something different to do".

We stopped here on our way into Berkeley from Marin County. The park is quite large and has a number of areas for hiking, picnics, swimming (in season), a botanical garden and probably more. We hiked around the swimming lake which was a good little hike and saw lots of water birds, a hummingbird and even heard a woodpecker. The... More

It's a big hike up to 1900 feet but it is definitely, the BEST view I have ever seen. Even more outstanding if you see the city as it emerges out of a foggy morning...the buildings in black relief against an azure sky is really magical....lie watching wisdom emerge.

So much to do here, and accessible by AC Transit bus on the weekends (at least the nature center and Little Farm). 1/3 scale Steam Train and Golden Gate Live Steamers on Sundays (during the summer). Don't miss the Holiday lights at the Carousel during December.

Uphill, downhill, groves of live oak and bay and occasionally eucalyptus or redwood. Keep to the trails or you'll run into poison oak. The views at the high points are spectacular and there's even a place where you can see Mt. Tam with one eye and Mt. Diablo with the other (if you're an owl).
