Mandu is highly regarded as an historical site and architectural wonder. However, to me, if a cosy environment in the countryside is what you are looking for, you'd better visit Orcha instead. Mandu is full of historical monuments which have seen better days. Thankfully people have realized their value and the Archaeological Survey of India is now working towards restoring and maintaining these monuments. Must visit list includes Jami Mazjid, Haushang Shah's Tomb,Jahaz Mahal and Roopmati's Pavilion. More

All the monuments are well kept with good views of the plains below. There is a Fossil/ dinosaur park before Delhi darwaza, which is worth seeing with the quality of information and exhibits there. More

We walked from the Village all the way up to the Rupmati Pavilion and the Baz Bahadur palace. The ruins stretch in every direction and most of the are accessible from the main road running between the village and the Rewa Kund group at the other end of the plateau.
