We hiked from Al Nawatef camp to Petra. The first day is through Wadi Ghuweir, which is a beautiful canyon. An adventurous but beautiful hike. Together with our guide we had the place to ourselves. Definitely one of the highlights of our Jordan trip!

We walked and walked and walked endlessly in a dry rocky river bed. Nothing to see other than black water pipes, and plastic bottles, and the occasional old slipper on the road.

pure nature (flowers, herbs, plants, birds....), great trails, good shoes required and take an official guide (entry 8 JD/person + guide fee, a little expensive but it's worth)

Ask to be taken to the peak of Jebel Fatma with amazing views of the holy land. We baked fresh bread on the mountain and enjoyed a walk with local Bedouin back to their camp where they welcomed us with tea and milk

Our favourite hike during our stay at Feynan Ecolodge. Ali, our guide from the lodge, was very informative.

Did this route on a summer day, we were walking up the weak stream under the scorching sun until we reached a dramatic gorge where you continue to a beautiful trail in a shaded area. It's a seasonal route because of potential flash floods in the winter if it rains (which doesn't happen often). Beautiful.

We went back and forth from Feynan Ecolodge into the canyon. Due to ramadan, we had to do it without a guide, but a bedouin drove us from the lodge to somewhere at one hour and a half walking of the entrance of the canyon. We then had a 4/5 hours walk on our one, which was easy and pleasant... More

This canyon links Feynan Ecolodge to the village of Mansoura in Showbak. We stayed at both Dana Guesthouse and Feynan Ecolodge during our trip. We walked down via Wadi Dana, and back via Wadi Ghuwair. Wadi Ghuwair needs a guide. We used one from Feynan. The hike is spectacular. It took us 8 hours. half of the time was inside... More

Absolutely loved this hike. Organized transport (drop off and pick up) through Tower Hotel in Dana so we would not have to back track. Easy hike and we did not need a guide. Take lots of water and some snacks or lunch and be prepared to get wet. We hiked in June so had some water to go through...highest level... More
