Laurel is a nice and skilled woman with a good staff to surround her. Here you can get advice, lessons, gear, all you need at reasonable priices. Maybe just a bit high in comparison to Dominican Standards but it is worth it. Right in front of Lek, teh swell is a bit more aggresive but still easy enough to start... More

I spent a week in Cabarete with a group from Washington DC. All six of us who took lessons were more than pleased by the cool vibe and professionalism of this place. It's hard to imagine any other place will make you feel more safe, comfortable, well-equipped and cared for than LEK. She and her staff maintain a very clean and reputable shop that will give you confidence that you are doing things right. I am physically unable to kiteboard, but during my stay in Cabarete DR I walked and relaxed daily near the team and office of LEK and along the beach of Cabarete. Excellent trainers, wonderful overall experience, awesome time. Laurel and her crew are the most helpful, friendly and nicest people you could ever want to meet. Cabarete is perfect place to learn kiteboarding. You can learn many different techniques and see different styles. It has side-shore wind. Before opening the best kiteboarding school in the Dominican Republic, Laurel was a rider on the pro-kiteboarding circuit, even being named 2002 Woman of the Year by the Kiteriders Professional World Tour and winning the 2003 North Sea Championship!
