Most people who want to have a picture with Mayon Volcano in the background usually go to Cagsawa ruins. Unfortunately, there are also other people who want to do the same. Going to Daraga Church is a better alternative. Outside the church, there are no crowds to block the view, and it is also a great place to rest for... More

Only stopped here quickly in the early hours on our way out to Donsol. Very peaceful at that time of the morning and a magnificent view of Mount Mayon

You get a great view of Mayon from the church. The stone facade of the church was impressive. The church is doing a great job on restoring the facade and the bell tower. Put this in your "to-go" place when you are in Legaspi

We visited on Holy Thursday so the church was filled with people celebrating Christ so that certainly made our trip special. The church is set on a hill with typically a nice view of the volcano, but it was cloudy and raining when we visited. If you like old architecture then it is worth a stop.

Daraga Church is an old church and a must-see if you are a Catholic visiting Albay. It has a great view of Mayon volcano too.

The Church was built by the Franciscans in 1773. It is where the churchgoers of Cagsawa transferred to hear mass after their church was ruined during the Mt. Mayon eruption in 1814. My favorite piece is the hefty belfry where I stood awed by the ringing of its giant bell!

After our city tour, we proceeded to daraga albay to visit the old chuch there. Its an old church but it has a good view of mayon volcano as it was situated on a hill. Nothing much to see here. Just the old facade and of course mayon. But since it was cloudy and raining when we were there, i... More

Daraga Church obviously has a lot of history behind it, but other that it is a typical church. Not a site of grandeur but of history. It is pleasantly on top of a hill, and has a magnificent view of Mayon Volcano. Formally known as NUESTRA SENORA DE LA PORTERIA. But if you are a tourist in Legaspi, you may... More

Weddings galore, very crowded, stalls all around vending stuff.. Not at all what a historical site should be, too bad.
