While this is one of the best places to watch the sunset it is always very crowded at sunrise with buses and buses of tourists showing up to watch the sun go down. I got there fairly early (45 min before sundown) and I only made it to the 2nd level of the pagoda. I went back the next morning... More

This pagoda is a good place for sunset if you're not upset by crowds. If you want a more exclusive sunset, go somewhere else. The pagoda also provides a great view in the middle of the day and is impressive in its own right, but the view is breathtaking.

Absolutely spectacular view, 360 degrees and up to a long distance, I saw the sunset in low season, and though there were many tourists at the top and many vendors pestering you below, it is quiet, peaceful and calm. I could sit there for hours just watching Bagan.

The last stop on my site seeing day in Bagan was this pagoda. It is quite tall and has terraces at five different levels. Stairs are quite steep but after reaching the top floor, the view is just amazing. You can see the vast landscape of Bagan with pagodas everywhere from here. The sunset as seen from here was nice.... This pagoda may not be the most beautiful one in Bagan, but it gives you the best paranorma view of Bagan, if you don't have time to try the Balloon. The best time to witness the wonder of Bagan is sunset and sunrise. In my opinion, sunrise is the best time. Youbhave to get up early to catch the sun... More

Not particularly interesting temple, though easily spotted as it is white. The crowds throng here at sunset though I have no idea why as the view isn't as good as elsewhere, but I guess access is a lot easier, the steps up are easy enough and the platforms easy to walk around.

Our taxi driver took us here early in the morning. I didn't want to climb on these temples but once we were there, it just happened. Amazing view and great place for pics. Sat on my bum and slid down step by step!

Bagan is totally a great place for every tourists who comes to Myanmar. We booked a bus ticket from Mandalay to Bagan from a bus office in Yangon. The departure time is 9.30 pm and reached Bagan at around 4am with a mid way stop @ 1 am. The bus will stop at a small village near Shwezigon Pagoda, and... More

We visited many temples or pagodas and it would be hard to say specifically why we enjoyed each site.
