My boyfriend and I went to Lyme Regis last Tuesday and happened to run into this place, we had no idea what to expect so we decided to have a look inside. The gentleman who runs the place told us we could feed the fish and that it was actually really quite exciting to do so. We decided to go... More

Yes I will be honest, it is quite expensive for such a small aquarium (around £17 for 2 adults and a child) and from a certain point of view I can fully understand some of the negative comments on this page, because it isnt the largest aquarium in the world. BUT (and I am writting this from my 4 years... More

You can feed the fish by hand (grey mullet which they breed) which is interesting. Liked the hermit crabs too. You wouldn't need more than half a hour to look round. About 20 tanks max I suppose. More

On a trip down to Lyme Regis, naturally, a stroll along the Cobb was made a beeline for. Reaching the end, whereabouts Meryl flapped her cape, we decided to go and investigate the artistically signposted Marine Aquarium. We were given a warm welcome by Mr. Gollop senior, who was sitting outside the premises, splicing rope, and he invited us to... More

Affable owner, Max Gollop, gave us a fistful of fish food, and told us to stick our hands in the water tank teeming with mullet. Dozens of mullet sped over to our submerged hands and gobbled up the food, splashing around, and sucking our palms and fingers to make sure they had cleaned off every flake. Great fun not only... This is a really good small Aquarium and well worth a visit. The owner is obviously an accomplished aquarist as the fish are all very healthy. The highlight was being able to actually feed a big shoal of Grey Mullet, by hand and actually put your hands in the water and allow the fish to feed directly from your hand.... More

Amazing when it said you could feed fish I thought throw some food in, but to hand feed them was different! Watching the hermit crab move house was good to! More

This is an aquarium crossed with a pet zoo; grown-ups and children can feed the mullets and feel their mouths on their hands, and they can hold starfish. The owner gives it a very personal touch and explains things very well. Interesting to see what lives just off the British shores! The aquarium is quite small but definitely worth a... More

What a fantastic place for all the family, espically those with young kids. It's educational, without being boring & you can get REALLY close to the fish. More

This thriving aquarium is a little gem in Lyme. The owner is knowledgeable and passionate about his fish. He also has the impressive claim that he is the only person to have hand reared grey mullet to eat out of your hand. This is the highlight of the visit and the children love it. The feeling of the fish 'kissing'... More
