The world leader in remote wildlife viewing, visitors can get up close and personal with amazing wildlife via interactive cameras that beam incredible live close-ups of seabirds and other marine wildlife from the nearby islands onto giant screens. Open all year, there’s different wildlife to look out for throughout the seasons from puffins to porpoises, gannets to guillemots and seals to shags. Visitors can indulge in retail therapy in the gift shop and enjoy seasonal local produce in the café.There is also the chance to jet off from the harbour on a range of boat trips, with something to suit people of all ages. Take in the wildlife wonders of Craigleith and the Bass Rock in an hour-long trip, or experience one of our longer boat trips, including a Bass Rock and Isle of May landing. « less

Recently visited North Berwick and took in the Scottish Seabird Centre. It is very well presented and the Discovery Centre in particular is great especially for children. You can read about the history of bass rock, learn about the local seabirds and they have live feed cams on the gannet nesting sites at Bass Rock. They also run "Seabird Seafaris"... More

Has to be one of the best run wildlife centres in Scotland - this was our second visit and we took the boat trip out to Craigleith and Bass Rock. A really choppy ride - couple of very green faces on the boat - but the guide was great and the birdlife simply stunning. The photos we took on our... More

Staff could not do enough for you Our initial boat trip cancelled due to bad weather We re-booked for the next day again the 12 noon trip cancelled due to lack of numbers but we eventually got on the 1.15 trip staff so helpful and apologetic about the cicumstances The girl we had on the boat was very knowledgeable and... Had a great time at the seabird centre with my family today. Staff in centre couldn't be more helpful and knowledgeable and we thoroughly enjoyed our morning learning about sea birds and the local area. Unfortunately our day out was let down by our experiences on a boat trip out to the bass rock. Unlike the fantastic staff in the... More

The one hour rib trip cost £22 but it is an exhilarating way to see Craigleith Island and Bass Rock. It is a well-organised and well-prepared outfit - lifejackets and full waterproofs are provided.

We were lucky enough to spot seals (best time to go is at low tide when they laze on the rocks), puffins, gannets, terns, shags and... More

Hi there. Thank you so much for this fantastic review and delighted that you had the opportunity to experience such a vast array of the Firth of Forth wildlife during your boat trip in April. We will certainly pass on your positive comments to our boat team. Kind regards Laura More

TOO EARLY IN THE YEAR TO PHOTOGRAPH THE BIRDS AS THERE WAS ONLY A HANDFUL OF BIRDS ON THE ISLAND. £45 for 1/2 day trip, a wasted opportunity and a big disappointment. No alternative visit offered as compensation by the friendly staff. More

Hi there. Thank you for taking the time to write this review regarding your Isle of May Photography Trip. This is a new trip for 2012 so all feedback is very much appreciated.
