Great place to picnic. Often no other people, you can swim at the base of the falls, beautiful hiking along the river
Well for local the view is great but at the present it is very dangerous and untidy, need to have proper fencing for the outlook most likely you get carry away with the view before you know it your gone off the cliff and should consider a guard there at night.
Once you get to the falls, it was nice. But, the place was not kept really good. Everything was falling apart. Didn't go swimming because the grass was so over grown you couldn't even get to the water, was affraid to walk on the grass because couldn't see what was under neath it. The falls are breath-taking, but would need more safety bars or something to stop the kids from getting into trouble. Would recommend that barricades be placed right around the area where people are to view the falls.
Initially we missed this waterfall as we drove up the range in pouring rain and fog, but we went back the next day in sunshine and it was quite impressive. The best viewing (and where most people stand) is nowhere near the safety fence - be careful around the edge. Well worth 5 minutes.
I certainly wouldn't plan a day trip around visiting this view point but it's a great 5 minute stop-off if you're on you way across the island via the main road that goes South from Apia to the south coast.
