A Stunning panorama of rainbow-like colors follows one on the drive north of Salta to Tilcara and Humahuaca. There is a grandure here that rivals and often exceeds like formations in the US Southwest. More

This was the second day of a tour out of Salta, staying overnight in Purmamarca which meant we saw the spectacular seven-coloured mountain at its best in the morning light, which I would recommend. Purmamarca is at one end of the gorge and Humahuaca is at the other. The scenery throughout is outstanding and well deserves to be a UNESCO... More

We took tours of Northern Argentina from Salta. Purmamarca would have been a better base because the tours passed Purmamarca each day and it is at least an hour from Purmamarca to Salta. It's much cheaper to buy handicrafts in Purmamarca than Salta. If you planning to head on to Bolivia and limited on time you can probably skip the... More

We spent 3 days in the region of Jujuy and were totally impressed about this magnificent landscape. We drove around with a rental car and could not stop watching all this beautiful mountains with the different colours changing depending on the day time. Actually I can hardly find words to describe it, you have to enjoy it by yourself. More

We just had a great week in northern Argentina. We visited Salta, Jujuy, Purmamarca and the Salinas Grandes and during the trip couldn't help notice that the landscape was very similar to that of the southwestern USA. We took a guided 4X4 trip along the Tren de los Nubes (Train of the Clouds) route and it was beautiful. Along the... More

A well worth-while trip along the gorge to Humahuaca...ever-changing climate and scenery. The vistas are just sensational, especially Le Cerro de los siete colores. Other memorable sights was La Pukara de Tilcara, Pumamarca and Humahuaca itself. Very charming little towns, good native handicraft...just delightful!! More

Quite the most stunning scenery my wife and I have ever scene mainly because of the several layers of colours in the rock from mineral deposits over the centuries. The new road to Chile From Pumamarca is magnificent climbing steadily to 4100 metres before reaching the salt plains. The only traffic we met were huge lorries transporting goods between the... More

The Quebrada de Humahuaca is located in the province of Jujuy, in the north of Argentina. The gorge is flanked on either side by multi-striated hills that are streaked with rich, vivid, blue, green, orange, yellow and red colours. This streaking effect, which gives this valley its trademark, along with its length (155.4 km) makes the landscape of the Quebrada... More
