I would not make a special visit to Pledge. It is a pathway cut through the woods with nameplates placed on a few of the trees. It is a very peaceful stroll on the edge of the town centre but not much more. It may improve with time.

Worth a couple of hours, you get some lovely views, the bird life is excellent. A nice place to get away from it all.
The entrance to this has changed since we last visited but still easy to find. Interesting paths with lovely fynbos and flowers as you walk up to the crest of the hill. Once there some very good views over the town and out to the lagoon. We were very lucky to spot the elusive Loerie in amongst the trees!
Peaceful and tranquil even though in the centre of town. Has great variety of fynbos. Ideal for birdwatchers. Saw famous pink loeries there.
Situated just behind Knysna's Main Road Pledge has a great choice of natural habitats: forest, wetland, fynbos.Beautiful indigenous plant species, cool ponds and streams and a wonderful range of birds, including the Knysna Turaco (Loerie) can be seen in a lovely walk through the various areas of the reserve. From the top there is a great view of the famous...

What a hidden gem! This is a beautifully maintained, slice of knysna forest, right in the heart of the Knysna town. Countless paths and hidden benches makes this an accessible retreat that will tweak your interest to return and explore more. Very few people visit here, which is a shame, but means that you can enjoy this piece of paradise...

When we asked about trails at the visitors center, the employee told us about a park that we had to drive to. A self-guided garden tour on the hill above town provides a splendid opportunity to savor the diversity of fynbos flora on a perfectly personal scale.
Right in town, this is a delightful reserve with rich flora and a wonderful view of the lagoon and Heads from the top of the trail.
Saw everything we needed and wanted to see. Lion enclosure was a little disappointing in that it wasn't really free roaming as such and only 2 but we did see them eating and took some amazing photos. If you haven't time to do a proper safari well worth going.
