I have recently visited Burgers Park and after all the stories I've been told about it and how unsafe it was, I found it rather pleasant. As an Architectural student I have to explore these spaces that make up our city and this was one of the better places. I will admit the bathrooms where not in the best shape... More

Burgers Park is not worth a visit. There are many other beautiful parks in the Pretoria area to visit. The park is littered and not always maintained to the original Victorian standard. Melrose House across the street from the Park is well worth a visit, though.

Beautiful green gardens near city centre, with large old trees. Opposite Melrose house museum, that sometimes hosts a flee market of antiques that is quite interesting.

i dont need 100 characters to review burgers park - its just insane to think that you are going to park your car and have all 4 wheels still there when you get back - never entered it.

Many years ago Burgers Park used to be a small pretty little park in amongst a lot of high rise buildings in the heavily populated suburb of Sunnyside. It is still there, more neglected now but the area is no longer safe to walk around in without the strong likelihood of being mugged. Sunnyside is not a good tourist area... More

mr Heyes of montrose House landscaped the Gardens in front his home which grounds became Burgers Park which is large and well laidout. It is unfortunate the suburb has become dangerous to park in and you are best served by taxi. similarly the security leaves doubts and much to be desired .Negates an otherwise spectacular Park

I can see that Burger's was once a beautiful and much loved park. Today's reality is that it is dirty and unsafe.

Burgers park is situated in a densely populated suburb of Sunnyside and close to Pretoria Midcity. Although best effort are done by the municipality to upkeep the gardens, there are always beggars at the perimeter and loitering occuring there. If you are a foreigner visiting the Park and Orchid hot house be aware of muggers and keep your personal belongings... More

The park is located near the City Centre, and the gardens are well maintained, but it is filled with people (jobless?) lazing around. It's OK if you want to laze around, but I felt a bit unsafe

The ambience is not quite what it used to be. You used to be able to forget that you were in the heart of the city. If you go now, get a taxi.
