Recently did the Queen Mine Tour in Bisbee. Doyle led us through the tour with help from Benny to keep us all safe. Doyle was very knowledgeable about the mine and it's operation and gave us a fun and informative tour. The mine is 57 degrees so cool, but not cold. They provice you with a rain slicker jacket and... My dad used to work Ina mine in Superior. So it was pretty cool to be able to see what he used to so every day for a living. Our tour guy was Sonny. He was very knowledgable ... He also used to work in the mines so he could answer every question that was asked on our tour! Crazy... More

First, you get geared up with a jacket, hard hat, and light. Then, a former miner takes you on a mini train (you straddle the seat) for 1500 feet. The miner/guide stops periodically and explains how things worked at different times the mine was open. I would not have guessed that it would be so interesting -- and make me... More

This was a great trip underground with an experienced guide. Hearing and seeing how copper was mined was great. This is a must do when in Bisbee.

It's amazing to discover how the miners really extracted the copper ore. This tour is fantastic! I would recommend it specially to parents with spoiled kids to let them realize the real world!

I loved this tour. It is COLD so take a sweater. You will get to see what an underground miner does for a living and all of it is hard. cold. wet and heavy. Enjoy, you are there only for an hour.

Our guide used to be a miner and has hearing problems. He could explain very well what he was supposed to tell us but couldn't understand questions. Cold underground so dress warmly even in summer heat. Could be a concern for those who are claustrophobic.

You know you're in for a good time when you have to sign a waver and wear a hardhat. :D This was a very cool experience and the tour guide (an old retired underground miner) did a great job. Must see when in Bisbee.

This is the same attraction as the Copper Queen Mine tour listed below. As others have said many times this is a great tour and the tour guides are actual miners that worked in this and the Lavender open pit mine a few hundred yards away. It is well done, informative, and fun for all ages. Clean gear, working lights... More
