You can walk forever into the water from here and it's still only about 2 feet deep! The color is beyond words. More

We loved hanging out at Matira beach. The sand is white and clean and the sea is like a huge pool. Everyone just sits in the shallow water, enjoying the clarity, colours and warmth. There were more Tahitians around than tourists, it was great to see their connection with the ocean. Opposite the Intercontinental Hotel there is a public green... More

This beach is a great beach with soft sands and a nice shallow area that extends for quite a ways off the beach. You can almost wade out halfway to the reef! Take a trip to the best local spot. This is a great place to layout and swim and eat lunch at one of the local restaurants. More
