School of the World is a wonderfully unique concept. A beautifully designed place of learning where surfing, Spanish, photography and yoga all coexist. Every day is packed with as much or as little activity as you want and your fellow students are friendly and adventurous spirits from all over the world. The owner is an artist and sculptor who cares... More

The School of the World is a unique, amazing place and I would recommend it to anyone! This was my first time traveling alone and starting at the school made it so easy and comfortable. All of the staff and instructors are wonderful and very helpful, they make learning a new skill very enjoyable! The accommodation is great as well!... More

School of the World was by far one of the greatest places I have ever stayed. It was exactly what I hoped it would be. The house was beautiful and very well kept but it was ultimately about the people that I met and with whom I spent everyday. It was great to get to know the other students but... More

I am currently visiting my amigo who is taking surf lessons and studying Spanish. I wish I had more than a week stay here. Whoever designed this place is a genius as it seems to not only provide the right accommodations but make everyone here feel at home. The staff is friendly and they'll help you get anything set up... It's a beautiful house but a bit far away from the beach. I recommend rainy season as there are less People around, and book a room indoor, it's sometimes quieter. Kitchen is well equipped. Easy place to learn the first surf steps.

My wife and I attended the school march 2013, took Spanish, I took Spanish and Digital Photography. We both enjoyed it a lot even though we are older than most students. We did not stay here however we looked at the accommodations and they were great. Very cool atmosphere great instructors and interesting side trips in the photography class. Wish... More

I planned on staying at this amazing place for about 3 weeks and I ended up staying here for 2 months! Trying to describe the atmosphere there would not do this place any justice, cause you can't possibly put the experience you'll have there in words. You HAVE TO go and see for yourself. You will meet amazing people, travellers... More

SOTW is awesome. I went down with a good friend of mine and she ended up moving there! I'm terrified of surfing, but I took the yoga, photography, and spanish classes for over a month. And I improved in all 3 fields drastically and had so much while doing it. The photography class was exceptional, and very small and personal.... More

School of the World was the perfect place to start my first solo trip: It is well organized, safe and I met a lot of nice people there. The building is very beautiful, lots of open space and nice tropical woods. The individual rooms were more basic than I had expected; my private room was a little dark and did... More

My girlfriend and I came down to Costa Rica to learn how to surf. We picked School Of The World because of the amazing photos and videos on the site, the rave reviews and the consistency of surf waves in Jaco. We had no clue what were really in for until we pulled up to the school. We were AMAZED... More
