The surf lessons were excellent. The instructor was knowledgable and patient. We were never worried about our safety, we were in good hands. The office could be better organized, but it all worked out fine.

Our Hostess became our sister- Gita is a fabulous tour guide and friend. Then Alonso, Derby and Isabelle got us all up on our first wave. yes! you can do it too! They guarantee it. Warm water, and it is addicting!

So everyone knows, I am 31 years old, and travelled solo to Costa Rica to learn how to surf and enjoy some natural adventures. My surf retreat was between Jan 14th-20th and the weather/waves were perfect! The staff at Del Mar are extremely organized. Just came back from a 6 day surf and yoga retreat for women with Del Mar.
Overall it was a great experience. I had an amazing host, Gita, and an excellent surf instructor, Dave. Surf lessons last 2 hours and they have a max of 2 people per instructor, or 1 if waves are big. Upper body strength and abs...

I had a couple of lessons with Del Mar Surf Camp both with Ismal who I highly recommend as an instructor for beginners/intermediates. It was informative while still being great fun. The waves were excellent when I went in November.
