It's an eye opening experience for a civilian to climb aboard a battleship and a submarine. Slightly challenging when navigating the battleship with the steeps stairs and tight spaces connecting the different level decks.

This is living history and is well kept up and very interesting for all age groups. Climbing up and down the ladders is a little challenging but well worth it if you are able.
It was so much fun and very educational. Clean grounds and easy handicap access. $2 to drive in Vietnam and Korea memorial. So much to see!!!
We stopped to view the battleship on our way to Florida. We figured a couple hours was plenty of time, but it wasn't. I was amazed at how much of the boat we were allowed to tour! It is an amazing piece of history, just give yourself enough time to tour it.
We are not big history buffs, but we really enjoyed roaming around the ship and seeing the cool airplanes up close. I personally felt much more appreciation for my father-in-law's service as a cook on a ship in the Pacific during WWII. What most amazed my husband and me was the size of this thing! It didn't feel that big...

We sort of stumbled upon this attraction as we drove along the gulf coast on our way back from New Orleans. I had been to the USS Wisconson in Virginia Beach a couple of years ago, so when I saw the signs for the USS Alabama, I had to go. If you are a military history / WWII fan, this...

I've been here a couple of times and I never seem to get to see everything I want to see. Allow a half a day at least, and a full day if you're a big military buff. I usually go in the summer and I would highly recommend shorts, a breathable shirt, and TENNIS SHOES, NOT FLIP FLOPS! It'll make...

There was more to see here than I was expecting! Educational and informative and it was interesting seeing what life was like on a battleship. I plan on returning.
It is easy to spend a day here if you like history, ships, subs and planes. This is a hands on aboard the Ship and the sub. One can see what ship life was really like and what little room the men had.
