For the kids, it’s a special treat to see large crocs spend the day languorously by the water. The Madras Crocodile Bank Trust and Centre for Herpetology also allows adults to volunteer and gain hands-on experience in the field. « less

It is very impressive of course as all the other reviews have suggested, but we were in for a disappointment. We read the reviews and were excited that we would get to hold a baby croc and a baby turtle. But the rules have changed about 2.5 yrs earlier, and they don't let anyoone handle the babies anymore. This was... More

Impressive first of all the high number of crocodiles. It is worth to visit one time. I think the place could be improved overall

Not what you expect to find in Southern India! Never seen so many crocs!! Suggest you walk down one side and back up the other side.Be careful the crocodiles do jump!

A must go for those visiting Chennai. It is a 35km drive to Mahabalipuram. Well maintained. The facts and detailing was good. Happy that we could go there!

One should visit this place, worth a visit. You can see more than 1000 crocodiles in small area lying on each other. Also, one should ask them to feed crocodiles (for a minimal charge they will do it for you), it will be amazing experience to see them running after food.

This is a good place to spend some time. One can see crocodiles and alligators lazing around in the hot afternoon sun. Wouldn't recommend this for someone who doesn't have any interest in animals.

I've been to crocodile bank quite a few times over the years. My latest trip (just last week) was after at least 10 years though. Although I felt like the crocodiles have reduced in number, there are still a good number of them there. The different species are marked properly as well. Apart from crocodiles, the place is also good... More

This seems a biggest Crocodile Bank in India. Underwater Gharial is new addition and excellent to watch her. This excellent creature is in itself a must watch and nicely maintained in Chennai. I urge people who visit the bank if you have fones which can record videos please pay 100 INR on the counter no matter how small the recording..... More
