Unfortunately the front was shrouded by bamboo scaffolding. The inside is devoid of any atmosphere or examples of the decorative lives the Queens had in those days. Still a must for Jaipur tourists though.
Although this place is undergoing renovation and there is scaffolding surrounding it, we couldn't help but admire its sheer bury and architectural wonder. Really fantastically designed to give the inhabitants of days gone by cooling and comfort. Interesting history.
It is a great unexpectedly beauty in this Pink City It is a 7 floor palace without any concrete bases, and is beautifully designed From top you can see it all, and all the other palaces (almost) The back of the Palace is more beautiful than the facade
It's a must see attraction of Jaipur & does not take long time. Very interesting to know why it was built & how the cooling effect of air going through narrowing section is used to comfort the person watching the streets. Take time to stand on the street & imagine how life must have been when the Mahal was built....

Typical picture of Jaipur, you must see, because is one of the most beautiful views in India. The palace is in front of a two ways street with the chaos traffic. You can only see the front of the building.
The place was undergoing rehabilitation when we visited last April 2013, bad timing, managed to see the structure but they were painting it scaffolding was around. :(
Absolutely loved this wonderful 'little' palace with all its romantic history. Sadly the famous facade was covered in bamboo scaffolding but don't let this put you off as there is much else to see inside and out - once you find the entrance!
The audio guide was pretty good and covered the main parts logically - worth the charge if...

There was bamboo scaffolding covering this when we visited so it was very disappointing. But we found the entrance at the back and for a small payment we ere able to see inside. An amazing structure.
