Sanjay Gandhi National Park is a good picnic spot in Mumbai. Many trees, clean area. Just carry your own food items. Good for family outing, have play area. The zoo ride is not so great for amount charged.
Its a large park as u enter borivali. Take ure car into th park or else its just inconvienent. The park is much drier than i had initally expectd. the routes r clearly demarcated. The lion tiger safari was a great experience. The kanheri caves is a must see. Im sure the rains will bring this place to a much...

If you've been to other parks, then you'll be disappoineted. But if you want a break from the hustle-bustle of the city, then this is good. Lot of greenery around, and you can take a long walk amidst the trees.
The safari is not worth at all, the lions look really depressed and unkempt. Kanheri caves within the park are...

a forest that is literally in the middle of a city.the scenery offers a break from the metropolis around it.best time to see animals is in the summer or winter months although the park is at its most beautiful in monsoon.in summer there is a good chance of spotting chital deer.lots of birdlife in all seasons.the kanheri caves are beautiful.
Always a place to take your family on a weekend picnic. Nothing to do at all on a weekend then SGNP is a place you can spend your day. The Lion Safari is thrill for the kids though not well maintained. The kids toy train brings back the memories of childhood.
In my recent visit to the National Park, I was pleasantly surprised. Here was a full-fledged jungle, just 10 minutes from the hustle and bustle of a lively city!
The first good impression on me was when they prevented us from taking any disposable plastics any...Since we did have some plastic bottles, they look a Rs 50 deposit, and asked...

Our exposure to SGNP was limited to a short visit to BNHS. Went to the BNHS (Bombay Natural History Society) on one of their guided tours within the buffer zone of the National Park. It was half day with breakfast and on a per person cost basis. Nice uncomplicated concept and there were ppt on several wildlife topics, followed by...
