It is a truly local place where you will get all the local flavors. No hanky panky, total Indian style. One... More

Dirty! Too many people! Almost looks like a village fair! Can't imagine staying on that beach for more than 10 minutes.

Being a costal city, Mumbai strangely has few beaches that are accessible (especially in south mumbai) add to that the huge population and a scarcity of open spaces this beach ends up being packed throught the year. An experience in it's own right but not if you dont like over crowded places

This winter and all through the end of february, there was a flock of around 100 sea gulls roosting on the sands outside Mafatlal Swimming Pool. The Chowpatty Beach is a must if you visiting Mumbai! Nice and clean, cool breeze, lots of people especially on weekends in evenings. The food stalls are just too tasty for a quick snack but we usually prefer the cream centre restaurant opposite for a wonderful meal!!
