I have been to this place twice in last couple of years. Its easily reachable as the roads have boards with clear direction. I found it to be well managed, except for the fact that camera is not allowed inside the palace and no body tells you that untill you reach at the enterance (which is far from the main... More

Pathetic state of maintenance for a heritage monument, staff openly demand tips for the free services like shoe custody, camera custody. Inside of the palace, the walls are covered with graffiti and neither the guards prevent this nor the maintenance covers it up. The area near the museum offers joy rides on animals, forcing people to walk on elephant/camel litter.

The Palace of Mysore (also known as the Amba Vilas Palace) is a palace situated in the city of Mysore in southern India. There are many temples in the palace complex too. You also can ride an Elephant in the palace complex. Footwear is not allowed inside the palace. Visitors are not allowed to shoot photographs in the palace too.

Nice place to visit. Talk about security though, women had to have their purses scanned twice and if men had something big in their pockets they had to pull things out of their pockets and have it looked at. Cameras were not allowed in the palace. No one is allowed to have their shoes on in the palace either. The... More

Must see thing at Mysore. The new palace is being given a good makeover and is well maintained. This palace gives a nice peek into the royal past of the Wodeyar kings and the life and culture of Mysore (karnataka) state. The old palace does need some restoration and should have more professional guides.

they allow too many people at a time...very difficult to enjoy the visit.. though the palace itself is beautiful...should try to visit in the early morning hours..as it gets really crowded post lunch....
