A very beautiful piece of victorian architecture, steeped in indian colonial history. Beautiful gardens and awesome food in the cafeteria. Take the guided tour if you want to really understand the place this lodge played in our history. More

as soon as our car got through the gates, the view from the window transported me back to the time of the British Raj in India- things I have only seen in movies and read about of course ! Viceroy lodge or Summer Rastrapati Niwas and now Indian Institue of Advanced Study is beutiful architechtural builiding constructed by Berma Teak and outer facing is Stone. There is a nominal fees of Rs 100.00 per person and a guide is available to explain in Hindi and English. More

What wonderful architecture , lovely lawns , bueatiful landscaping , serene surroundings , it is a masterpiece . Just love the place . It reminds you of the old world charm of Shimla .Have been there quite a few times but would not miss another chance to be there again. More

We visited by walking from the Mall up the roadway (600m) and approached via teh Old Fire Station (now a cafe, gift shop and public conveniences. The building is beautiful and with snow on the ground, it was hard to believe you were in India !! The guide was very good and informative and happy to answer any questions. It was so interesting to hear of the part Shimla and this building played in the history of India. More

A most unexpected building, with plenty of history. unfotunately you can't see much of the inside, but worth the walk to get ther. More

It's a delightful old building straight from 19th century Britain. If you've seen hundreds of these in England, you won't see anything new here, but was *IS* different is that it is in India.
